I'm Lovin it!

Hey everyone!

So after last week's venting post, I decided that I was in control of our life. And although the things people said really hurt me (I cried a lot about it). I also realized that I don't need those negative people in our life.

We are SO very excited to start our family and if people do not appreciate or support that decision.. we really don't want to hear your opinions. I know it sounds harsh and usually we give people the benefit of the doubt, but at this point, it's not worth it to us. We understand people might not agree with us or what we are doing, and that is fine. But still support us.

Alright, enough about that! Moving on to bigger things... our adoption yard sale! I am BLOWN away by the donations we have received. Although, I still feel like we need more, our garage is full of things from donations! Thank you Thank you Thank you for your donations! We are so blessed! We have been trying to organize it all, price things out, and so forth! It can be overwhelming, but we know it will be worth it in the end :)

Venting ;)

Hi Guys!

It is very rare I will do a post to vent. I try, in my life and always, to stay as positive as possible even when situations are EXTREMELY difficult.

But this hit close to home, and I do just need to vent.

Let me start by saying, I understand 100% adoption is not for everyone. Trust me, a year ago, I would have said the SAME exact thing. However, when you are in the situation we are in, your thought process is completely different.  We have dreamed of having a child for our whole life. Even before we met each other. Why should an illness stop us from that dream?

I have heard the following comments in the past 24 hours that make me really sick to my stomach:

"Why are you adopting if you do not have all of the adoption money?"
"I think it is selfish you are waiting just for a newborn"
"Why not just cheat on Kurt, get pregnant, and just don't tell him" (heard this more than once)

Those are just a few. Seriously? Like I said, I get it, it might not be for you, but these are crazy things to say!  I found this on another adoption forum and had to share:

"Giving birth does not make you a mother, true love for a child grows in your heart, not your tummy."

I also want to be clear and say I LOVE QUESTIONS. This is a HUGE learning process for us too and we are not professionals at adoption. I love answering everyone's inquiries about our status, where we are at, how long it will take, etc.  But keep in mind, it is the golden rule to treat others how you would want to be treated.

Thanks for allowing me to vent and sticking with my thought process right now and reading it! ;)

Blog Auction- Update!

Good Morning!

I hope you are all having a FANTASTIC day! I woke up with an achy body and a sore throat, I am just hoping I am not getting super sick!

Anyways, I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on the blog auction! We have some AMAZING sponsors who are supporting some AMAZING prizes! Just to name a few:

1. A Photoshoot
2. Scentsy Warmer
3. A fun children's gift basket
4. Home made gifts
5. 30 Day supply of HCG
6. A night's stay in Midway, UT.

And more! It is going to be EXCITING! I can't wait. We have decided the blog auction will run from October 1st- October 8th.

If you know of any business, companies, or etsy shops who are willing to donate to our cause, please send them my way! :)

On a personal note, the blog auction and adoption yard sale have really opened our eyes to how much support we really have. I am AMAZED (to say the least) at the fact that complete strangers are willing to donate to our cause of starting a family! Every time I think about it, I cry. It is truly astonishing to me!

Adoption Yard Sale- Update!

Hey Everyone!

We are so excited with our response, so far for our yard sale! We have received so many people's support and kind words! Plus, we have a garage that is almost full of great treasures to sale!

We are also doing a bake sale (ran by my beautiful nieces) We will have all sorts of goodies for the family!

An update on our adoption progress. The application, home study, Dr. Approval, etc are all turned in! We are just waiting for our final 'approval' letter to be officially on the waiting list for our little baby Z! To give you guys an idea, Heart to Heart has never declined anybody, unless something really jumps out (like a failed background check). So we are approved, just waiting for it to be in writing!

My dear friend over at A Sibling for Silly Lily gave us some baby boy clothes for Baby Z. Oh my gosh, I about died. Sometimes it does not feel real that we will be having a baby boy in our house! It's amazing how things can change, oh so quickly!

Hope you all have a fantastic evening! :)
