Semi Office Reveal!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend filled with family, friends and lots of DIY projects! I know we did. Our main focus this weekend was to work solid on my office, install the floor, paint the walls, and put it back together. Well, we get to cross all of those off of our list, but I am still putting it back together and decorating too. I am SO giddy about our office that I just had to share with you all! It Started up by finishing up the hardwood, we have a great neighbor that helped us cut the wood.

Once the floor was done, it was time to start adding back in decorations, hanging up pictures, and putting my desk together! This is the wall, to the left of my desk. I printed some free printables that have a lot of meaning to me.

This is the wall, right when you first walk into the room, some simple white shelves. Those champagne glasses are from our wedding. We use them every year on our anniversary. That picture in that frame is from when we were dating, 8 years ago, and he came down to Vegas to pick me up to move back home.

And here is the room! Although, I must say it is not 100% done. I still want to add some white shelves above my desk and put a rug in here too. But I LOVE the outcome so far of it.

Some things we still need to do in here

1. Hang white shelves above my computer
2. Figure out a cord organization
3. Possibly build a book shelf under the desk
4. Get a rug
5. Make Curtains for window

The wall color is called Green Supreme by Sherwin Williams. It is a very soft greenish blue. It is calming, but the white makes it very happy in here. The dark floors tie it all in together. For fun, here are some before and after shots. Tell me what you think!

Tell me your thoughts! What do you think of the crazy transformation! :)

XOXO,

Erica

Building A Desk

Hi Everyone,

Kurt started building my desk. My vision was a large wall-to-wall desk that I could not only have my craft supplies but be organized for work too. He started building a 'box' with 2x4's. It started like this:

Once the frame of the desk was complete, he added the top.

You will notice in the bottom 3 pictures, there is a 'face'. He used a separate piece for this, to hide the box up, and make it look pretty. Once the top was on, it was time for paint. Here is a sneak peak at the wall color too. He primed the board first, then sanded. Then painted the same color as the woodwork It is 'Aspen White'.

After the paint drys, we will work on installing the flooring and my favorite part, DECORATING! :)

XOXO,
Erica

The office has begun!

Hi Everyone,

So last night, we decided to start our office transformation. I have been super excited about what we plan to do in the room.  Just a reminder, this is what we started with:

So first step, was to empty out the room, completely.

Then the next step was to rip out the carpet completely, since we will be doing hardwood floor in there

And that is how we started. I will be posting more, tomorrow about how we built my desk and painted the room!! It looks GREAT!

XOXO,

Erica

A Before of Sorts

Hi Everyone!

So, I am going to talk about a space, that I have never spoke of. A space I am in more than half of my day working, my office. This is the most neglected space in our house. I have not attempted to decorate, style, paint, anything to it.

After talking with Kurt all day yesterday, we decided it was time to make this space nice. I am in here working all day long and it is well, UGLY! It is extremely disorganized, and has NO sense of style in it, whatsoever. So, that, my friends is going to be our winter project! WOO HOO!

Here are some before pictures, I warn you, it is NOT a pretty site!

Phew, I am glad I got those out of the way. Do you see what I mean? It is a MESS. I absolutely HATE this space. I am so thrilled to start working on it. We have plans, BIG plans for this space people!

Some ideas, I want to paint the walls a soft blue/green. A happy, yet calming color. I am thinking of doing stenciling to one, or even all of the walls!  We will finish the flooring in here, extend the Pergo from the living room and kitchen into here. Our sweet neighbor, that is a framer has so kindly offered to build me a wall-to-wall desk on one wall.

Some examples of what I like:

via here, here, here, & here
So, those are my inspirations. I am in LOVE with the wall-to-wall desk, although Kurt keeps saying my dreams are too big for it! We will see! I love all of the organization as well! My goal is to have this room done before Christmas, time will tell!

XOXO,

Erica
